Kybella
Because one chin is enough
What is Kybella?
Kybella is an injectable medication that breaks down fat cells so that they can no longer store or accumulate fat. This FDA approved medication is typically injected under the chin to improve the chin profile and eliminate the “double chin”. Some people are more prone to having a double chin due to genetics and others may begin to notice it with age or weight gain. Kybella offers a permanent, non-surgical solution to eliminating this problem.
How many Kybella treatments will I need?
Every patient is different. Patients require 1 to 6 treatments with most patients requiring between 2 to 4 treatments for optimal results. Each treatment is spaced at least 4 weeks apart.
Is there any downtime after Kybella?
Most patients experience swelling and tenderness at the injection site for the first 48 hours after treatment. It is usually the most severe after your first treatment. Although you can return to your regular activities immediately after treatment we recommend that you keep this in mind when you schedule your procedure.
Are there any side effects?
Common potential side effects include swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness in the treatment area. Kybella injections can also cause tingling, nodules, itching, skin tightness and headache. These side effects typically resolve themselves without treatment and do not usually result in patients stopping treatment.

Who performs my procedure?
I myself, Dr. Megan Bertke, perform all procedures, consultations, and follow up appointments.
What can I expect at my appointment?
A comprehensive facial assessment is performed prior to procedure to ensure that you are a good candidate, discuss your aesthetic goals, and answer any questions you may have about the procedure. Photos are taken before and after the procedure for documentation and comparison purposes that will be kept confidential unless you give your expressed consent to use them for any promotional purposes. Once initial photos are taken, I will set up for and perform your injections. This usually takes about 20-30 minutes. After that you have after photos taken and schedule your follow up. The entire visit usually takes about 45 minutes.
