Dr. Bertke is very passionate about preventing skin damage and helping you to address any baseline inflammation, acne, discoloration, and signs of aging that you may struggle with. She firmly believes in using clinically proven medical grade skincare products to help you achieve your aesthetic goals in order to give you the best cosmetic result. Dr. Bertke offers a free consultation to each patient and makes recommendations tailored to fit your unique skin type. What skin care products do you offer?
We currently offer SkinBetter Science, Epionce, and NeoCutis skincare products, as well as Mizzi Cosmetics clean lip care. Dr. Bertke researches and hand picks each product that she offers to her clients.
This technologically advanced skin care line was developed by the same people that brought you Restylane and Dysport. These products were developed to deliver highly effective skin care in a way that is effective yet easy to use. Although they are relatively new to the scene, getting their start in 2016, their products are Allure and New Beauty Award winners backed by stunning results in clinical trials. Epionce is a medical grade skincare line created by dermatologist, Dr. Carl Thornfeldt. These are safe and effective botanically based products, free of parabens, added fragrances, and sulfates. They have been clinically tested only on human volunteers and do not use animal testing. In blinded medical studies Epionce products have been clinically tested against other leading products to provide a visual improvement in: fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots and discoloration, rough uneven texture, dry and scaly skin, blemished and problem skin, clarity and radiance. Neocutis meaning “new skin” was initially developed in Switzerland to treat pediatric burn patients by supporting the natural healing process of damaged skin by stimulating collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. They then began to apply the same principles to aging skin, developing products to make skin heathier with a more youthful appearance. Their products deliver a clinically effective blend of growth factors and peptides to help nourish and rejuvenate your skin.
Don’t forget about the lips! Your lips often times get neglected, but they need exfoliation, hydration, and regular care just like the rest of your face does. We carry a wide variety of lip scrubs, masques, and balms from Mizzi Cosmetics that you can choose from. You can also add on a hydralux lip treatment during your botox appointment for a little extra pampering to keep those lips kissably soft.

What makes a good sunscreen?
Your sunscreen needs to be a broad-spectrum, meaning that it is effective at blocking both UVA and UVB light. Use a minimum SPF (sun protective factor) of 30. Find one that contains at least one of these ingredients: ecamsule, avobenzone, oxybenzone, titanium dioxide, sulisobenzone, or zinc oxide. You also want something that will be water and sweat resistant.
How do I know what products are best for me?
Dr. Bertke has had training specific to these products and uses them herself. She will sit down with you and discuss your current skincare routine, skin type, and assess any problems you may have. Based on her assessment she will recommend products tailored to your specific needs.
If you could only pick one skincare item what would it be?
Sunscreen! Everyone should be using a good facial sunscreen daily. The UV ray exposure will do more damage to your skin than just about anything. If you are not using an effective broad-spectrum sunscreen to prevent sun damage and the premature signs of aging that it leads to then you are not going to get the maximum benefit from any other facial products on the market.
