What types of treatments do you offer?
I offer several different options for hair restoration including PRP injections, scalp stimulation with Collagen P.I.N. and DE|RIVE. These therapies can be used on their own or in combination
What is DE|RIVE?
DE|RIVE is a plant based growth serum designed specifically to optimize scalp health and stimulate hair growth. It consists of an office based treatment using a highly concentrated serum combined with Collagen P.I.N. to deliver it to the hair follicles and accelerate results. You are then sent home with a 30 day supply of the daily support serum for twice daily application.
How is PRP obtained?
The Technique of obtaining PRP involves drawing blood and then spinning it in a centrifuge to separate the components: platelet rich plasma, platelet poor plasma, red blood cells, and white blood cells. The PRP can then be drawn up and injected into the treatment site
What are the benefits of treatment?
These treatment modalities offer a safe, natural, non-surgical approach treatment to stimulate hair follicles, decrease hair loss, improve scalp health, and strengthen hair strands, and, of course, the confidence that comes with it.
Is there any downtime?
The downtime is minimal to none. Your skin may feel tight, dry, swollen, or sensitive for 1-3 days post procedure. Headache or the sensation of wearing a helmet on your head may occur immediately after treatment, but typically resolves by the following day. Cold compresses and OTC tylenol can be used for symptom relief.
Is it safe?
Yes. All of these therapies are safe, natural solutions for hair loss.
Who is not a candidate for treatment?
If you have any of the following conditions then PRP treatments are not recommended: platelet disfunction syndrome, critically low platelets, hemodynamic instability, pregnancy or breastfeeding, ongoing infection, urticaria, autoimmune disease, or cancer. Consistent use of NSAID medications within 48 hours prior to treatment should be avoided.
When will I see results?
It is important to understand that results are not expected immediately. You should start to see results in about 3 weeks, with continued gradual improvement over the next 6-12 months. Although yo may start to notice improvement after a single treatment, a series of 3 treatments spaced 1 month apart with a 4th treatment at 6 months is generally recommended for optimal results. Depending on the extent of the hair loss a series of 6 may be recommended. Maintenance is advised once to twice a year.
Is there any maintenance required?
For optimal results of both PRP and DE|RIVE in office treatments, I recommend using the DE|RIVE hair serum. This allows for continued, uninterrupted support between sessions to help nourish the skin and scalp leading to thicker, fuller hair. It is 100% natural and hormone free. Applied twice daily, it is easy to apply and use. The formula is non-greasy and can even be applied after showering.
Who performs my procedure?
I myself, Dr. Megan Bertke, perform all procedures, consultations, and follow up appointments.
What should I expect at my appointment?
I always get a brief medical history to ensure there are no contraindications to treatment. I will answer any questions you have and take photos before the procedure for documentation and comparison purposes that will be kept confidential unless you give your expressed consent to use them for any promotional purposes. Once initial photos are taken, your treatment will take place. After treatment I retake photos and go over post-treatment recommendations. The entire visit usually takes 60 minutes for your initial appointment, including consultation. Repeat sessions usually take about 30 minutes depending on treatment modality. The majority of the time is spent discussing your goals of treatment and answering questions so that you get the best possible outcome and feel completely comfortable with the procedure.
